Danse l’Europe! is a participatory choreographic work created by Angelin Preljocaj, with music by Jeanne Added, created to embody the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Innovative, interactive, inclusive and open to everyone, this artistic experience can be discovered across Europe throughout the first half of 2022. The 9-minute choreography is available via an application specifically created for the project. Everyone, whether amateurs or professionals, can share a moment of dance, alone or as a group, in various cultural spaces as well as at home, at work, in schools and in public spaces. Guided by the voice of Angelin Preljocaj in French and by other artists in the other European languages, participants get ready, warm up then perform this fun and joyful choreography in their own way.

The application also includes a film by director Tommy Pascal, which portrays the dance routine performed by 27 European dancers and dance-lovers of all ages. Participants can also send a video of their dance to Numeridanse.tv, the digital platform of Maison de la Danse and coordinator of this shared experience, or upload it to social media using the hashtag #DanseLEurope. Events for all audiences geared towards discovering dance and dancing together will be held in several locations throughout Europe during the six months of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
